Pagewake Privacy Policy
Pagewake ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that checks the web pages you choose and tells you when they change. This policy explains what happens to your information. In short: we do not collect, store, sell or share your personal data.
What we collect
Nothing through the extension. The developer of Pagewake does not run any servers that receive your data. The extension has no analytics, tracking, advertising or crash reporting. If you buy Pro, see "Payments and licence keys" below.
What the extension stores on your device
To work, Pagewake keeps the following only in your own browser (Chrome's local extension storage):
- the addresses of pages you choose to watch, and your settings for each (keywords, schedule, element selector);
- a text snapshot of each watched page, used to detect changes;
- a history of detected changes (up to 50 per monitor);
- if you activate Pro: your licence key, its activation ID and the result of the last licence check.
Your monitors, snapshots and history never leave your device unless you choose to export it as a CSV file. Removing a monitor deletes its data. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.
Web requests the extension makes
- Pages you watch. Pagewake downloads the pages you have asked it to monitor, directly from those websites, on the schedule you set. In the default "Fast" mode, these requests are sent without your cookies. In "Thorough" mode the page opens in a background tab of your browser, as if you visited it yourself. Those websites receive the same information as any normal visit (for example, your IP address), under their own privacy policies.
- Site permissions. Pagewake asks for access to each website individually, only when you choose to watch it. You can withdraw access at any time in Chrome's extension settings.
Payments and licence keys (Pro upgrade)
If you choose to buy Pagewake Pro, the purchase is handled by Lemon Squeezy (lemonsqueezy.com), which acts as the merchant of record: Lemon Squeezy sells the subscription to you, takes the payment, handles VAT and sales tax, sends your receipts and runs the customer portal where you manage or cancel your subscription. Lemon Squeezy and its payment processors handle your name, email address, billing address and payment details under Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy. The developer never receives your card details. As the seller, the developer can see the order details Lemon Squeezy shares with sellers (such as your name, email address, country and what you bought) and uses them only to provide support and refunds.
After you buy, Lemon Squeezy gives you a licence key. When you paste it into Pagewake, the extension stores the key and an activation ID in your browser's local storage and sends them to Lemon Squeezy's licence service (api.lemonsqueezy.com): once to activate the key, about once a day to check that your subscription is still active, and when you deactivate it. These requests contain only the licence key, the activation ID and the label "Pagewake on Chrome". They never include your monitors, the pages you watch or your browsing data. Like any web request, they reveal your IP address to Lemon Squeezy.
Children
Pagewake is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
